Andrew Munkacsi is a Senior Lecturer of Genetics at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, where he directs the Chemical Genetics Laboratory. His research integrates genetics, genomics, metabolomics, natural products, and microbial biotechnology to investigate disease mechanisms and identify new therapeutic opportunities. His research spans microbial and human disease biology, drug discovery, and the development of bioactive compounds from natural sources, with collaborations across academia, industry, government, and Māori organisations.
